The GoH is Apex alumnus Ben Bova. Also, Mr. Girard will be hosting a writing workshop that is open to all attendees of the convention.

Geoffrey Girard is our featured writer this month. We've made the first part of his serialized novella CAIN XP11 available! See what all the buzz is about. :)
Noted Australian author David Conyers contributes a novelette that is sure to leave a mark on your soul.
Interviews and reviews and more!
Conglomeration 2007 will be held at the Clarion Hotel in Louisville, KY August 10-12.
And Apex will be there! Stop by the table and say hello...ahem, be sure to buy something, of course. ;) The conventions are a great time to buy our products because 1) We discount our prices special for the con and 2) No shipping costs that we pass down to the buyer.
Unfortunately, Ye Editor in Chief won't be there this year. I'll be wearing a catcher's mitt awaiting the arrival of the newest little Sizemore. :) However, APEX regulars Judi Davidson and Geoffrey Girard will be running the table. The mega-talented Bielaczyc brothers of Aradani Studios will be around. APEX spokemodel Amanda D will be present. Dr. Ben Bova is the GoH...he's been in APEX a couple of times...
Mr. Cain, Geoffrey Girard, is hosting a WRITING WORKSHOP on Saturday and is open to all writers. Here's the description from the Conglomeration program:
A writing workshop for authors of any level interested in getting both general and specific feedback on a finished short story. The group will look at each story in all elements of fiction, such as character, plot, point of view, metaphor, voice, research, etc. Will the reader enjoy this tale, and, why or why not? Stories will be read aloud in workshop and discussed fully. Please plan to send one story of no more than 10,000 words prior to the session.
Moderated by Geoffrey Girard, the award-winning author behind such tales as current Apex hit CAIN XP11! I expect Girard to frighten away weaker-hearted but sounds like a kick-ass workshop indeed!
Hell, if I were going, I'd probably attend this workshop. On a personal aside...there's two conventions that are *must* attends for me. 1) Hypericon and 2) Conglomeration. Both are small, intimate affairs. Both are run by wonderful people.
To my fellow Kentucky natives--Conglomeration is the only sizable SF fan convention in the state each year (CaveCon is really small, I hear). Go out and support these folks.
